I recommend this shop unequivocally. And, I drive up from Boston, where I live!
I have dealt with Buchikas for 35+ years for clothing, bikes and ski's and have always found the staff to be attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. This is a retail outlet that will go out of their way to remember your name and the specifics of your particular sport. They have always extended a sense of family which is rare in this day and age. Would not shop anywhere else.
I am planning to buy a better and more expensive bike but will not buy there, because very bad service.
Next time I'm in the area and need something for our bike's I'll go there first. Thanks for the great service.
When you arrive this store they try to push you to buy those more expensive ones first and when try to buy a cheap ones they are not motivated to help you.
I bought a not so expensive neither a not cheap, when I went back for a free tune up that they provide before 30 days after you buy a bike, I ask for fix several issues and the employee who received my bike said substimade comments about my bike, they left my bike with several issues after the tune up, I had to go back three times after ride test it.
This is my favorite Bike and Ski Shop!!! As a family full of avid skiers and a son who ski races we are regulars at Buchika's (they stock ski race gear, boots, ski's, and all the essentials to keep you warm on the mountain). Todd and his crew have always treated us great and have always beaten the "pro form racing specials" at other shops. They are great boot fitters and are great about boot adjustments to give you that custom boot feel and to get you comfortable on the slopes. They also have a great selections of Bikes (Road and Mountain) and a great service department I use for my bike tunes and maintenance (and bike gear).
I have used Buchika's for my bike and cycling needs, and have always had a more than satisfying experience. The entire "staff" are caring, concerned, want to be of help. Hence, they listen, ask the right questions, analyze your needs, and always do their best to provide you with good, helpful recommendations, and stand behind their products and their advice.
I have worked with others as well, feeling just as satisfied whether it is a maintenance check, adjusting a problem with my bike, or considering the purchase of a new bike!!
2. They installed it for free! Other places charged for installing the bike seat. I feel a lot better that it got installed properly there by someone who's done this before.
3. The bike we were putting this on probably needed a little tune up to be honest. Dave tightened up the breaks, made a few adjustments and again, did it for free, and it didn't seem to bother him at all, he was happy to just go ahead and do without me asking.
4. The same bike seat I got was $100 more at another bike shop, looking around Buchika's prices seem much more reasonable than some other shops that just mark everything up.
In the last month, I worked with Michael Knightly to change my pedals and install a system that will work for me and be safe. I love cycling, but I enjoy it as a recreational activity, in the warmer seasons. Michael was patient, interested, helped me to understand my options, and set me up with a cleat system that I am sure, will work well for me. I know that if I have a question, I can call him, and he will take the time necessary to respond to my concerns, and he's open to reworking the entire system.
1. The service was amazing, Dave showed me all available child carriers, what features they had and gave his honest opinion. I got none of this at the other bike shops/ sporting goods stores.
I've been in the market for a bike child carrier seat that sit's behind the rider and above the rear bike wheel. I'm trying to fit this on a womens bike and I looked at 3 places before (Buchika's is not local for me) and bought one that didn't fit and had to return it. When I realized Buchika's was open on a Sunday, and I was in town visiting my parents I stopped by to see what they had after calling them to see if they had any in stock.
